PITTSBURGH, PA--(October 2, 2025)--Pittsburgh Region Clean Cities and Communities (PRCC) has announced the launch of its search for a new Executive Director. This follows the announcement earlier this year of the planned retirement of current Executive Director Rick Price, who will retire at the end of 2025 after more than 25 years catalyzing the clean transportation movement in Western Pennsylvania.

Rick has served as Executive Director for the past 15 years, following a distinguished career at the U.S. Department of Energy. Under his leadership, PRCC has grown into the region's go-to resource for alternative fuels and sustainable transportation. His legacy includes expanding PRCC's reach across 33 counties, forging key partnerships, and dramatically increasing the displacement of petroleum fuels and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Rick's tireless advocacy, technical expertise, and commitment to clean energy have left an indelible mark on our region and the national Clean Cities and Communities network. We thank Rick for his visionary leadership and wish him the very best in his well-earned retirement.

To continue this important work, PRCC's Board of Directors is launching a search for its next Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity for a mission-driven leader to guide a well-established coalition into its next phase of impact and innovation.

We are seeking a dynamic Executive Director who will lead strategic planning, fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and organizational and program development. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership experience, a passion for clean transportation, and a track record of building partnerships and securing funding. PRCC hopes to welcome a new Executive Director in early 2026.

The organization is one of over 75 regionally-based Clean Cities and Communities organizations coordinated by the U.S. Department of Energy to fulfill this vision of a cleaner tomorrow. PRCC brings this network's expertise to 33 counties in Western Pennsylvania and develops solutions based on a unique understanding of local needs, opportunities and markets.
